Position Title: Construction Engineer

Role Purpose:

• Assist the Snr. Construction Engineer during the fabrication of the 18,000 MT KBB topsides integrated deck.
• Ensure the site fabrication activities of the assigned discipline are executed in accordance with the requirements of the contract.
• Proactively engage with the fabrication Contractor to ensure that the fabrication activities are performed safely and efficiently.

Job Description:

• Ensure that the assigned discipline and its installation on the integrated deck is carried out in accordance with the drawings and specifications, and meet the quality standard requirements.
• To identify potential issues early that may affect the completion of the assigned discipline deliveries and installation. Take any proactive steps to mitigate any such issues. Technical responsibility for on site fabrication/providing technical input during fabrication.
• During the execution fabrication activities to ensure :
• Quality : monitor of compliance.
• Schedule : verification of Contractor schedule and progress in terms of fabrication.
• Reviewing and commenting on documentation produced by Contractor e.g. procedures, drawings, technical reports etc) ensuring implementation of established procedures and good engineering practice.
• Participate in constructability reviews.
• Ensuring fabrication activities are carried out safely in accordance to KPOC’s HSE Management System and Site HSE Plan. To actively participate in HSE programmes throughout project duration.
• Assisting Projects control to review Contractor change orders associated with discipline assigned and make recommendation for approval.
• To be a team player and maintain effective relationship with Contractor and other team members, to create an enjoyable working atmosphere while achieving best results.

Major Challenges:

• Working in a potentially high pressure environment to meet the project deliverables.
• Able to work effectively within a JOC environment with 3 company participation (PETRONAS Carigali, ConocoPhillips and Shell), and appreciation of cultural diversity.
• Able to liase at job level with contractor and vendors on the scale of the job.

Dimensions:

• Approx weight 18,000 tonnes integrated deck Topsides.
• Float-over offshore installation.
• 96 man living quarters & flare boom.
• 2 nos turbine compressors + 4 nos turbine generators.

Qualification:

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 15 years construction experience in managing and working with fabrication contracts in the oil and gas business.
• No less than two (2) jobs in direct fabrication management of offshore structures working in both local and international fabrication yards.

Skill/Competencies Required

• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Self Motivated.
• Extensive experience in managing HSE in fabrication yards, especially in formal hazard identification techniques.
• Strong planning and organization skills.
• Full familiarity with safe working practices in the oil and gas industries; complying to HSE standards are expected from the job holder.
