Career Opportunity: Hess Graduate Engineer Programme

What are they looking for?

They are looking for ambitious engineering graduates to be trained as either as a Process Engineer, Pipeline Engineer or Structural Engineer. As an Engineering Graduate you will be assigned immediately to one of Hess's Development Project teams in Kuala Lumpur. As part of Hess' Graduate Program you will be assigned a mentor and expected to contribute immediately upon joining Hess. Your development will consist of on the job learning as well as formal technical and leadership courses.

What are the responsibilities?

Depending on your assigned engineering discipline your tasks may include but not limited to the following:
  • Perform process engineering simulations in order to select and optimize oil and gas plant design.
  • Conduct process and utilities equipment sizing /studies that leads to optimized surface facilities concept selection.
  • Conduct PVT analysis / phase behavior prediction of well head liquid samples in order to validate and optimize oil and gas facilities design.
  • Conduct pipeline engineering studies that consist of materials selection, pipe routing, pipe size, flow analysis, stress assessment, cost and schedule estimates whilst ensuring environmental and safety standards are met.
  • Perform pipeline transportation and installation studies to ensure the correct installation method is selected (e.g. S-lay, J-lay and tow-in) and buoyancy factors has been considered.
  • Select and specify appropriate Pipeline pigging systems.
  • Select and specify Pipeline cathodic protection system in order to control pipeline corrosion.
  • Perform Structural modeling and various structural analyses in order to assess its ability to support or resist structural loads.
  • Conduct geotechnical and geophysical studies in order to ensure soil data and risks are considered in the design of offshore structures.
  • Conduct foundation systems studies to confirm their ability to support a structure and select the best foundation material and structure for use of any selected application
