Jealousy is not a good characteristic, but it is a natural emotion that we have to face every day. You cannot avoid it, but make sure you can live peacefully with it. Unfortunately, too many people have ruined their career just because they’ve created for themselves a lot of pressure to be like other colleagues. Effective and sustainable way to grow in the career is to be yourself, which requires you to know who you are, what you want and how to bring out your hidden talents. The mentors and superiors can guide you but ultimately you have to manage yourself. Here are 5 ways jealousy can destroy your career path and why you need to remove it:


1. Loss of competitive spirit

It's hard to compete when you're too focused on being other. You will lose the passion and no longer crave to discover your hidden talents. That's why most people do not be promoted in their careers. They said to themselves as "cannot compete" because they just spent time on observing "competitor" rather than took advantage of the potential to increase their competitiveness. When you are blinded by envy, you cannot see the opportunities in front of your eyes.


2. Difficult to have an advance

How you can get an impetus to work when you do not focus on your differences. The first step in your career requires you to invest time and focus on an appropriate strategy to optimize your skills in the work and liberate the hidden capacity to become the best version of yourself.


3. Limit of affiliate network

We cannot build the respect and trust of other people (to support and help each other) on the basis of jealousy. How you can build a network when the jealousy prevents you. Think of the advantages that you can share with everyone, this is better than the jealousy and remove them out of your network connection.


4. Loss of confidence

Frustrated and feeling unable to believe in yourself is one of the factors that impede success in your career. If you do not trust yourself, you will limit your progress.


5. Not satisfied

Jealousy is a state shows you are not satisfied. When jealousy becomes a virus killing belief in your value, it is difficult for you to move forward, even in work or life.


There will always have people better than us, but each one has its own value. Life is not for you to compare but for you to know yourself learn from each other.

Is Petronas An Ungrateful Child of Malaysia?

JULY 12 — In early June Petronas hinted publicly at the World Gas Conference that it is tired of being the Malaysian government’s cash cow. It said no to fuel subsidy and last year it said it wanted to pay less dividends!

And nothing will ruin your day faster than realizing that your cheap lace-up Wal-Mart boot, just isn’t gona cut it. It won’t take long before your back at the store looking for pull-on boots.

I made this exact mistake of buying some cheap Wal-Mart lace-up boots on my first day…. and I couldn’t throw them away fast enough. The very next day I drove into town and bought myself some pull-on redwings…. And never looked back.

Ron 97 Down 10 sen from Tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR (June 6): The government today announced that the retail price of RON97 would cost 10 sen less at RM2.80 per litre from tomorrow.

In a statement today, Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah said the lower price was line with the dip in average global crude oil prices in May. He said the retail RON97 price, in principle, was fixed based on a managed float whereby the monthly price was determined according to market forces.

Petronas RAPID to Draw RM120,000,000,000

KOTA TINGGI: The Petronas Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (Rapid) project in Pengerang is expected to draw RM120 billion in investments during the next five to six years.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the complex had recently also drawn the interest of a Taiwan-based petrochemical company, which is conducting an investment study to build an integrated oil and petrochemical complex to complement the Petronas Rapid project.

Najib said the Taiwan petrochemical company’s project was worth between US$10 billion and US$12billion (RM30.72 billion and RM36.86 billion).

Kencana Secures RM74m Fabrication Job from ExxonMobil

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 29): KENCANA PETROLEUM BHD has secured a RM74 million contract from ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia (EMEPMI) to fabricate the substructure for a platform off Terengganu.

The company said on Wednesday its unit Kencana HL Sdn. Bhd was awarded the contract to fabricate the substructures which include jacket, piles and related components which formed part of Tapis R central processing platform for the Tapis re-development project off the coast of Terengganu. “The total value of the contract is approximately RM74 million. It is a one-off EPC contract and is expected to be delivered to EMEPMI within the second quarter of calendar year 2013,” it said.

Energy Commission Wants IPPs to Reduce Capacity Payments

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 28): The Energy Commission has invited the first generation of independent power producers to submit their plans to extend the power purchase agreements (PPAs).

Its chairman Tan Sri Dr Ahmad Tajuddin Ali said on Tuesday that these IPPs, whose PPAs scheduled to end in three to four years, were invited to extend the agreements on condition they would reduce the capacity payments.

According to the commission website, there are 27 IPPs in Malaysia.

As for the Prai combined cycle gas turbine power project, he said the commission had received pre-qualification statements from 33 out of 38 participants. The 33 participants comprised of the 18 consortia and sole bidders. All submissions would be evaluated and the short-listed bidders would be announced after March 19.

Uncertainties Cloud MMHE Earnings Visibility

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Bhd's (MMHE) earnings visibility is clouded by project uncertainties, delays and intensifying competition, according to CIMB Research.

The research house noted that MMHE's orderbook was filling up more slowly than expected, thus indicating it was not necessarily the fabricator of choice for national oil giant Petroliam Nasional Bhd and even MMHE's parent MISC Bhd.

“MMHE's orderbook has shrunk from RM5.95bil in June 2010 to RM3.7bil currently,” it said.

CIMB Research also said that two widely anticipated major contracts, Turkmenistan's Block 1 Phase 2 project and Shell's Malikai project, might not be awarded so soon and may not go to MMHE.

Kencana Unit Lands RM1b Fabrication Contract from Bechtel

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 8): KENCANA PETROLEUM BHD ’s unit, Kencana HL Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM1 billion contract from Bechtel International Inc for the fabrication and assembly of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing facility in Australia.

Kencana said on Thursday that the contract scope included fabrication, assembly, testing and loading of process equipment modules for Wheatstone Project LNG Plant Facility located at Ashburton North, Western Australia.

Oil & Gas News: Petronas Makes Significant Oil Discovery Offshore Sabah

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 15): Petroliam Nasional Bhd’s exploration and production arm Petronas Carigali Sdn. Bhd. has made a significant oil discovery offshore Sabah.

In a statement Tuesday, Nov 15, Petronas said the discovery was made via the Wakid-1 well within Block 2G-2J, about 100km northwest of Kota Kinabalu.

Petronas said preliminary estimates placed reserves at the discovery at 227 million barrels of oil equivalent, with expected upside potential.

Manchester United To List In Singapore

Do I mind that MU is going to list on SGX? Not particularly because seriously, Malaysia was NEVER under the radar for consideration. That is just the plain truth. It was always going to be between HK and Singapore. Imagine the consternation among fans from the UK to hear of this listing.

Will you make money from this IPO, probably if you got in at IPO level as the frenzied trading on listing would provide enough room to get out. Will the company make real money in the long term term? Not likely. In the end, the shares are likely to stay in the hands of staunch supporters, and scheming rich billionaires slicing some stake in the hope that MU's controlling shareholders will someday sell or just pass on.
